InterestingsFactsPeople create handmade bookmarks to help contribute to the children who don’t have the privilege to get the right education. Every bookmark created the Bezos Family Foundation will donate $1, up to $300,000 will be donated. The money will be donated to the children in Mali, Peru, and Nepal. Over 250 million children, worldwide cannot read or write. Without the right proper education children would face poverty in the future, leading to low self-esteem, poor health, inequality and unemployment.

Nepal Nepal has a very low literacy status with only 40% of whole people being literate. The literacy rate for male is 55% and 25% is for female respectively.MaliThe biggest inhibitor to children attending school in rural areas is distance. The further the children must travel to school, the longer they are away from home and this imposes added hardship to the family.PeruAlmost 40% of children and adolescents in Peru are living in poverty. Many Peruvian children will drop out of school to work and support their family. Up to 33% of children ages 6-14 are employed.

About This ChallengeThis challenge is all about helping the unpriviliaged children to read in places like Latin America, Asia, and Nepal. To help the cause, you can make a bookmark and the Bezos Family Foundation will donate a $1 per bookmark, up to $300,000 can be donated. .
