Heinrich Luitpold Himmler
WHO?Heinrich Luitpold Himmler was born in Munich on 7 October 1900 to a conservative Roman Catholic middle-class family.
WHAT MADE HIM KNOWN?On 4 October 1943, during a secret meeting with top SS officials in the city of Poznań (Posen), and on 6 October 1943, in a speech to the party elite—the Gau and Reich leaders—Himmler referred explicitly to the "extermination" (German: Ausrottung) of the Jewish people.
HOW WAS HE STOPPED?Most say that Heinrich was killed by a cyanide tablet embeded into his teeth on May 23, 1945, he bit into it when he got caught by the british in an interview, so in conclusion he took his life after hitler did.
HOW DID HE GET THERE?Upon the resignation of SS commander Erhard Heiden in 1929, Himmler assumed the position of Reichsführer-SS with Hitler's approval. He then rose in the Nazi ranks, later becoming one of Adolf Hitlers right hand men.
WHAT DID HE DO?Heinrich Himmler was the main reason behind the Nazi concentration camps that took the lives of many innocent victims. He thought that that would solve what he thought the issue was. Also he was the head of the SS, the SS were the Nazi police. The SS initially put the victims inside the ghettos.
