Hammurabi's Code

Code 250 of Hammurabi's Code is wierd to me because it says " If a bull kills a man the bull doesn't get punished". I think Hammurabi made this code because killing a bull might be unpleasent to the gods. Now in modern day America if a bull killed a man the bull might be killed or caged. Code 53 is a cruel code because it says "If a man is too lazy to tend to his dam and it breaks and floods the field, the man shall be sold for money and the money will replace the corn the man destroyed". Now in modern day America if a man breaks if a man breaks a dam on accident he might not even be punished.Code 197 of Hammurabi's code is harsh code because it says "If a man break someones arm his bone, then the mans bone shall be broken too". Now in modern day America if a man breaks someones bone they might just get a years one or five years in jail.

Hammurbi's Codes of law were very interesting because he know man and women didn't care what they did because they were all going to the same place (The Afterlife or The Land of No Return).

Code number 21 is an interesting code because it says "If you break into someones house, you would be put to death in front of the house and buried there". I'm not saying it's fair, but if you break into someones home you should be punished. Now if you break into someones home you will go to jail.Code number 195 is also an interesting code because it says " If a son strikes his farther the son shall have his fingers cut off". Now, I understand this code because you are suposed to honor your mother and your father Which means you should never hit them. Now if you hit your parents you might go to jail for assualt or you get no punishment at all.
