Summary Lucy and her family moved into a new house by a lake in New Hampshire.Her dad who is a photographer is leaving for a trip to go take pictures of insects.Lucy meets a boy named Nate who “lives” next door. Nate would visit his grandma during the summer. Nate and Lucy would take pictures of the mountains and the loons that lived by the lake. When she found out her dad was judging a photography contest she entered the contest. But then she saw something in a picture that made her worry. Nate’s grandma ended up having Alzheimer’s.

Loons*They named loons because of their clumsy appearance when walking on land.*They are found in North America, Greenland, and Ice Land.*They can be located around the Pacific or Atlantic coast.*They have red eyes, black heads and neck, and a white stripe along their necks. *They incubate for about 27 to 30 days.*A family of 4 can eat up to a ton of fish in a 15 week life span. *Like planes they need a running head start before flying.

*Photographers take images that tell a story.*You need a imagination and creativity. *Photographers get about 18,000-26,000$.*Long lenses are used to make objects appear closer. *Parents hid behind blankets to hold their children still while taking a photo in the 1860’s
