Purchasing Tips

Chiles are high in Vitamin A and Vitamin C and are reported to help lower blood pressure!

Habaneros are thought to have originated from Mexico.

What makes a Habanero chili pepper so hot is a chemical called capsaicin that is located on the inside of the Habanero.

Fresh habaneros can be found in the produce section of specialty markets and supermarkets

Choose fresh, bright chiles with deep colors, avoiding those that look wrinkled or soft

1. Roast haberos over a grill or gas burner blackened. When cool, remove the skin, stem, and seeds. 2. Place habaneros, onions, garlic, sugar, salt, and pepper intoa blender. Blend, then pour into a large bowl, and mix with a can of green chiles, cilantro, and lime juice. Cuttomatoes into desired size, and add to the green chile mixture. 3. Throw all of it into a blender.
