How did fashion in America evolve throughout the twentieth century and what major events in US history influenced its evolution?

Answer

At the turn of the century, America fashion was influenced only by other countries. However, as the twentieth century progressed, fashion grew with and parallelled American culture. Each decade added to the evolution and history of fashion. Major political and social events, such as both World Wars and the Great Depression also had large influence on fashion.
