Francis Scott Key Fitzgerald was born in St. Paul, Minnesota, on September 24, 1896.In 1913, Fitzgerald attended Princeton University. Fitzgerald was so focused on writing that his grades suffered, which led him to be placed on academic probation.In 1917 Fitzgerald dropped out of school and enlisted in the Military. The war ended before he was deployed.In 1918 he met and fell in love with Zelda Sayre. They eventually married in 1921.He made most of his money from short story sales. He wrote 160 magazine stories.By 1936 Fitzgerald was broke, drunk, ill, and living in hotels near Asheville, N.C.1937 - Fizgerald sign a screenwritering contract with MGM. He died on 21 December 1940 from a heart attack.


Many of Fitzgerald's works have been converted to movies these include: The Beautiful and Damned, The Curious Case of Benjamin Button, The Great Gatsby, The Last Tycoon, and Tender is the Night. Was a screenwriter for Gone with the Wind.His works have been an inspiration to many authors including T.S. Eliot and J.D Salinger. Coined the term "Jazz Age."Fitzgerald is a 2009 inductee of the New Jersey Hall of Fame.His novel, The Great Gatsby, is a constant best-seller, and is required reading in most high schools.
