3 fun fact mistakes1) Tears CANNOT float in space. Why is that? Surface tension in space changes very frequently. This does not cause tears to float off. They would just stick to you like they would on Earth. 2) It is IMPOSSIBLE to survive when getting hit by debris in space.Because of the lack of friction & the weightless atmosphere, your bones would not be able to handle the force due to the push of the object. Your body would be crushed. Literally.3) George Clooney had the chance to live... but why didn't he?When Sandra was holding on to the rope with George on the other end, George said if you don't let go we are both going to die.Well, not true at all. At that moment, they have the same angular momentum & are both stationary. But randomly, he gains momentum by a random force from space. Lets say that they weren't stationary. Sandra could have just pulled the rope towards her and they would have both lived. Or, she could have pulled the rope back, vice versa. . http://www.spaceanswers.com/space-exploration/16-things-gravity-got-wrong-and-some-things-it-got-right-too/
SCIENTIST'S DISCOVER MISTAKES MADE IN THE FILMBEHIND THE SCENES, MOVIE CREATION
.
You would think that the directors would know more about outer space while filming this movie, but you thought wrong. Mistakes were found after the film was released by scientists. Let me tell you a couple ones related to the physics point of view.
The Zero Gravity EffectIn Apollo 13, they would send the actors in the "Vomit Comet". What it was was the actors would be put in free fall for a solid 25 seconds. But in the movie Gravity, the whole film was in space and needed the free fall to last longer. So what they did, was use the actors as puppets. They hooked them up to wires and would toss and turn them causing a realistic zero gravity effect.http://www.cinemablend.com/new/How-Did-Gravity-Do-Secrets-Behind-Its-Groundbreaking-Special-Effects-39790-p3.htmlhttp://news.moviefone.com/2013/10/02/how-do-they-do-weightlessness-in-movies/
Movie Trailer
This film was based on all Computer generated imagery. The whole movie was animated before using the actors. The animation was so amazing, they could have released the movie & just used the voices of the actors, not their actual bodies. It took 4 years to create the movie. ( 2 years to animate, 2 years to film with the actors.)
The directors created a new invetion called the lightbox. It contains 4,096 LED bulbs and is 9x9x9 ft cubed. What it does is create a mirror image of the atmosphere around the astronauts.
Film making
The movie Gravity was completely computer generated, but looked and felt like it was filmed in outer space.
I learned that technology can do or create anything. I learned that the movie was not very accurate with the science used behind the film. I would have never discovered the amazing animation used to create zero gravity.
