Many grasshoppers are herbivores and feed on many plants, but some speies only eat grass. Baby grasshoppers can't move very far, and have to live with whatever plants are around them
Most grasshoppers prefer dry grassland, some can live in jungle areas, and you can also find a lot in farmer's fields. Grasshoppers are found almost anywhere with decent weather
Grasshoppers have many predators that feed on thier eggs, such as: wasps, ground beetles, skunks, shrews, moles, salamanders, and some snakes. Praying mantises feed on live grasshoppers
