Type of Book:History

Last VerseLuke 24:50-53Then he led them out of the city as far as Bethany, where he raised his hands and blessed them. As he was blessing them, he departed from them and was taken up into heaven. They worshiped him and went back into Jerusalem, filled with great joy, and spent all their time in the Temple giving thanks to God.

A few monthes passed and Mary was about to have her baby. Joseph and Mary travelled to Bethlehem in Judea which was the birthplace of King David in which Joseph was a descendant of David. In Bethlehem, Joseph brought Mary into a manger because there was no room for them to stay in the inn. Some shepherds were nearby and they followed the star on top of the manger by the orders from a angel sent by God. They saw Mary and Joseph happily holding a baby wrapped in cloths lying in the manger. That was how Jesus the Son Of the Most High was born.

The Gospel of Luke includes the birth and childhood of Jesus. One of the most famous stories in the Bible is in the Gospel of Luke which is when Mary found out by Angel Gabriel that she was going to have a child who would be called the Son of the Most High God. Even though she was a virgin, she was going to have a baby. When the angel left, Mary hurried to her cousin Elizabeths house to share the news in which Elizabeth was also filled with the Holy Spirit.

Summary of a story in the Gospel of Luke

First VerseLuke 1:1-4Dear Theophilus: Many people have done their best to write a report of the things that have taken place amoung us. They wrote what we have been told by those who saw these from the beginning and who proclaimed the message. And so, Your Excellency, because I have carefully studied all these matters from their beginning, I thought it would be good to write an orderly account for you...

Theme: Humanity of Jesus Christ and his Perfection as a human

Why I chose this story...I chose the story of the birth of Jesus because it reminds me of how brave Mary was. If I were to go in Marys shoes, I would be scared and frightened knowing that I was pregnant while still a virgin. Also, I would be scared because of all the other women that could be mad or maybe feeling envious that God chose me. Mary is inspiring and an amazing role model which is why I chose to share my summary of the Birth of Jesus.
