This week, Mrs. Wolford's Course 3 classes got to go on a virtual road trip. In this 2-part activity, students were paired up to plan a trip across the US. Students had to start in Philadelphia, and go to San Fransisco, stopping in 3 cities along the way.

Using the scale of the map and what they learned about setting up and solving proportions, students figured out how many miles their trips would be. They also figured out how many hours and days their trips would take.

In the second part of the activity, students got to create their own Google Map. For each of the cities they decided to vist, they had to find a picture of something to represent that city and write a short description about the picture. Check out our maps!
