My animal is the Golden Lion Tamarin. 2.) This animal is endangered. 3.)The Golden Lion Tamarin is a mammal. 4.)Their habitat is in the trees of the rainforest about 5-20 feet high off the ground. 5.)The head and body of this mammal is about 11-15 inches. It has golden orange hair and a shaggy golden mane. It also has long narrow fingers and sharp teeth. 6.)Their are a recorded 1,000 in the wild,but only 500 in captivity. 7.) The average lifespan of the Golden Lion Tamarin is 15 to 20 years. 9.)The females usually birth 2 young at a time every 125-132 days.

10.)Hawks,wildcats,deforestation,snakes,and large rodents are big dangers to the Golden Lion Tamarin. 11.)They don'tmigrate,because they're very territorial. 13.)These mammals is so valued that poems have been written for them. One of the poems is called 'The Beautiful Golden Lion'. 14.)There are strong laws against harming this mammal. 15.)In 1974, a group was created to protect these animals. The group is called the Golden Lion Tamarin Conservation Program. 16.)They need to be protected,because they are key in seed dispersal and are very rare.
