In 1965, Reynoldsburg held its first annual Tomato Festival. Every year people enjoy a parade, fried green tomatoes, and even free tomato juice.

The Franklin County Historical Society named Reynoldsburg "the birthplace of the tomato" in 1965.

Alexander W. Livingston developed the first commercial tomato in 1870. It was larger and sweeter than the tomatoes before it.
