Glog 1 -Influences on my educational practices

My omoi is to unify and encompass the experiences of students and connect students to the school, home, and world views. The influences of my educational practices stem from my traveling experiences that have helped me attain a global awareness of student’s cultural heritage. The art courses I pursued later in my educational journey have helped shape components of creativity, which have allowed me to help students share their understanding through multiple creative outlets.

I believe that education is as a worldly collaborative journey and a social responsibility. The diversity of my students have many layers of heritage, diversity, and must be understood in order to progress, preserve, and conserve Indigenous practices that continue to be neglected and dominated by Eurocentric rationality. Keeping this in mind, I think that my continuation of studies also benefits how I think about the future of how we will need to embrace and present education to future generations.
