Giraffes

Giraffes have long legs and long necks. Their legs are about six feet long. Their tongues are 21 inches long. Giraffes have spotted c0ats. No two have exactly the same pattern. The knobs on the top of a giraffes head are called ossicones. They are used to protect the head when males are fighting.

Giraffes eat hundreds of leaves each week.

Baby giraffes are called calves.

Giraffes sleep less than two hours a day.They are the tallest land animal.When giraffes walk,they move both legs on one side.

They live in Africa.

Baby giraffes fall more then 5 feet when they are born.

Lions are enemies of the giraffe.

They weigh 1,750 to 2,800 pounds.

Giraffes are 14 to 19 ft. tall.
