Giardia, Deadly!Giardia infection is when the parasite in the water is drunk by organisms and transferred to the intestines. The infection causes symptoms such as watery diarrhea, bloating, abdominal cramps, and nausea.Giardia can be passed down person to person contact and through drinking water.
Fun FactGiardia infects 20% of the worlds population and is commonly found in animals such as dogs and cats.
What is Giardia?.Giardia is a microscopic parasite that is found in areas where animals have deficated. The parasite has an outershell that keeps it safe from dying. This shell gives it the ability to spread using water.
