When Georgia O’Keeffe moved to New Mexico, she would paint the view and landscape that she saw. She was also raised by her mother, who was also an artist. She painted using watercolors. Also when she moved to New York from New Mexico, she would have never became an artist, or met her husband.
Georgia O’Keeffe painted American Modernism and Abstract art. Abstract art is art that is not supposed to show a certain object, but shows its effect through colors, shapes, form, and texture.
Some important people in Georgia O’Keeffe’slife were local artists. There names were Arthur Wesley Dow, Alon Bement, Wassily Kandinsky, and Auguste Rodin. These artists inspired her to paint the way she does. Also her mother was an artist who painted water color. Her husband, Alfred Stieglitz, was also a very important because he is the reason why she started painting.
O’Keeffe was born originally in Wisconsin, but moved first to New York and really began her art career, and then to New Mexico. There she was able to capture the beauty and essence of the scenery.
