Georgia O’Keeffe was born November 15, 1877. As a child she received art lessons at home. Her abilities were recognized and encouraged by teachers throughout her school years. In 1905 graduating from high school, she determines herself to become an artists. She studied at The Art Institute of Chicago from 1905 to 1906 then transferred to the Art league in New York from 1907 to 1908. She learn techniques and traditional paintings. O'Keeffe pursued studies at the Art Institute of Chicago (1905–1906) and at the Art Students League, New York (1907–1908).
Accomplishments
She was quick to master the principles of the approach to art-making that then formed the basis of the curriculum—imitative realism.y]She also stretched the visual edges, to design features which had metaphysicalimplications in many of her pieces.
Georgia O’Keeffe was recognized as One of America’s most important and successful artists. It was known for her New York skyscraper paintings, her modern images and flowers. Her works/ paintings promoted everywhere from The Anderson Galleries to The Intimate Gallery in 1925.
Her Life Style
Through out her life styles she was able to paint anything that had feeling and emotion that she could draw. Georgia created many paintings that told a meaning across the canvas.
