George Washington(1732-1799)

George Washington, father of two children and husband to Martha Washington, was born in Virginia, February 2nd, 1732 and died December 14th, 1799.

In the French and Indian War, (or the seven year war), George was the lieutenant colonel of the Virginia militia.

George was the first U.S. president and served for two terms, (four years per term). Not only was he the first president, Washington was also the first to unanimously get all the electoral college votes both times! First elected in 1789 and elected again in 1792.

George Washington was a hero. He led forces in the American Revolution, was Commander-and-chief of the Continental Army, he was president when writing the Constitution, and then two years later, president of the U.S.

George's last words were'Tis well'

Washington was a naturalborn leader, and fed for nothingas president. When whiskeywas taxed, known as the (The Whiskey Rebellion), farmers marched around, protestingits "unfairity". Once Georgeheard the news of the rebellion, hegot an army of 13,000 militia men and started to march them down toWestern Pennsylvania. When the farmersrealized the president himself was comingwith 13,000 men, they hurried off in fear. Another accomplishment of George was when he signedthe (Jay Treaty) in 1795, which brought a momentaril peace with the U.S. and Britain. He supported manyof Hamilitons ideas; such as paying off debts, creating a well worked tax system, a national bank and so on.
