The change I made on the potato chip was making them in different shapes. This made an impact on society because kids would think they were cool and more kids would buy them and like them. Also if you had a party with a theme you could buy potato chips shaped like things from that subject.

George Crum

George Crum was born in 1822 in Saratoga Springs, New York. He was a chef at the Moon Lake Lodge resort in Saratoga, New York. A customer kept complaining that the French fries were too thick so George Crum kept making them thinner and accidently invented potato chips. The potato chip is eaten around the world by millions of people as a snack. He died on July 22, 1914.

The potato chip was originally called the Saratoga Chip.George Crum was a native American inventor.William Tappendon was the first to manufacture and markete potato chips in Ohio, in 1845.


I know the potato chip was success because according to “it is America’s favorite snack and the distributors sell $6 billion worth of potato chips a year”.
