Galileo Galilei
He was an Italian astronomer, physicist, mathmetician, engineer, and philosopher. He is responsible for improvements to the telescope and support towards Copernicansim, along with many astronomical observations.
Galileo has been named many names. Some of them include the "father of modern observational astronomy," "father of modern physics," "father of science', and the "father of modern science."
He also confirmed the phases of Venus, discovered Jupiter's 4 largest satellites, inventing the military compass, and observing and analyzing sunspots.
