In the early 1920s, Fruma married Simcha Perlmutter, a highly respected professor of philosophy. The couple had 2 daughters by the late 1920s when they decided to settle in Horochow.
Fruma and her husband, Simcha, were planning to emigrate just before Germany invaded Poland. Three weeks after the invasion, The Soviet Union occupied the area they lived in. The Soviet rule didn't alter their lives greatly; The family lived in the same home and Simcha still taught Philosophy at Lvov.
In 1941, Germany invaded the Soviets territory including Horochow. The family fled the area once they heard rumors that the ghetto was going to be destroyed. As they were hiding in brush by the river, They heard gunshots and screams from the ghetto. They left their position after a guard spotted them.
Shulamit, Their youngest daughter, was the only survivor of the family. She stated that Fruma disappeared from them during their escape fromo the Ukranian guard. Fruma was never seen after this event. It is believed she drowned in the river the were hiding by, was shot during here journey, or was captured by a German soldier.
