Paris Fashion WeekFashion week is held twice a year, autumn/winter and spring/summer, showing the new trends and designs of that season. Fashion week is also held to improve popularity and income for known French brands such as Christian Dior, Lanvin, and Isabel Manat. Paris Fashion Week is held in the underground mall of Carrousel du Louvre and organized by the French Fashion Federation.

HistoryFrance began their climb to the top of the fashion charts during the reign of Louis XIV when France gained control of luxury goods and their culture began diffusing into the goods and Europeans enjoyed the new styles in their clothing and jewlery. Once the fashion press was introduced and shown outside the French royal court, the french fashion industry became much more popular and started to become known by many more countries all over Europe. The creation of the fashion press brought upon Vogue, founded in 1892. With the new issue of Vogue, many more fashion houses were beginning to be seen in France, named after their fashion creators, such as Madeleine Vionnet(in 1912), Coco Chanel(in 1925), and Balenciaga(in 1937). Many cities in France are known for their role in the fashion industry today. For example, Paris is known as the world's fashion capitol with the Avenue des Champs-Élysées holding many headquarters of high class fashion brands.
