Frederick The Great Prussia

Fredrick the Great of Prussia lived from January 24, 1712 to August 17, 1786.Fredrick was born in Berlin. Fredrick had a tough childhood, he was almost given the death sentence as a prince. Instead they made him watch his bestfriend be beheaded. Fredrick officially became king in 1740. Fredrick was given the name Fredrick the Great because of all the great things he did for Prussia in his time of ruling.

2. Made the Prussian civil service more efficient, and gave more to the public. Fredrick introduced the potatoe and turnip, he also bulilt canals which made travel easier.

1. Placed Prussia firmely on the Military map. redrick defeated Austria which was important because it kept the previous peace terms intact.

3. Through reform, war, and the First Partition of Poland in 1772, he turned the Kingdom of Prussia into a European great power. Fredrick brought power to prussia.



4. Fredrick built the Berlin State Opera, the Royal Library, and Prince Henry's Palace. These buildings represents the wealth and knowledge Fredrick brought into Prussia's architecture.

5. Religiously tolerant, although an unbeliever, he ended witchcraft trials and allowed freedom of worship. Religious frredom was important because it made prussia desirable to live in and was peacefully.
