Frederick Douglass was born in Talbot County, Maryland. Then he died in Washington D.C. in 1895. He was 77 years old when he died.

Frederick Douglass was 20 years old when he escaped from his slave master. After he escaped he became a anti-slavery spokesperson.

Frederick Douglass was married twice in his lifetime. Between the two marriages he had 5 children. He had 3 sons and 2 daughters.

Once Frederick Douglass escaped he became the leader of a movement opposing racism. He also wrote about slavery as well.

Dear Diary,Today an angry mob came upon my group. They told us to stop our movement or else they would make us stop in a deadly way. We quickly ran away from them. As I was running I heard gunshots fired.Today I went into town to get some parchment and some ink to start writing my biography. The owner of the store told that there had been 5 lynchings last night. When she told me that my mind burst into flames.Today I went to the site of the lynchings two nights ago. The site was unpleasnet and disturbing. This really inspired me to keep fighting for freedom. Everybody deserves freedom and rights of their own.
