Title: Freak the Mighty

"'But what finally happened is his [Freak's] heart just got too big for his body.'" It's a tragedy. Freak was growing on the inside but not the outside, leaving both the readers, audience, and Mac to mourn.

"'Get outta bed you lazy beast! There are fair maidens to rescue! Dragons to slay!'"Whether it's the book or movie, Freak is absolutely set on making up quests and becoming heroes with Max. While these adventures can lead to trouble, they also help Max as well.

"I never had a brain until Freak came along and let me borrow his for a while... "Max has always been called "slow" and takes refuge in the down under. But thanks to Freak, Max has dicovered through quests and knighthood that there's more to him than just a learning disability.

"...we became Freak the Mighty, slaying dragons and fools and walking high above the world."

Overall, the movie adaptation of Freak the Mighty was a perfect mix of humor, suspense, and tragedy. The audience finds themselves rooting for Max and Freak during times of trouble. Though some scenes were unneccessary for the plot, and a few events from the storyline were missing, readers will not be disappointed. If there is ever a book that's found its equal in a movie, it's Freak the Mighty. I chose these pictures and quotes to allow readers to be introduced to their favorite characters coming to life, as well as memorable scenes in the movie.

My Review

"'...So what are you doing these days?''Nothing.'...she goes,'Nothing is a drag, kid. Think about it.'"Loretta, despite her flaws, knows that Max must move on past Freak's death. He should do something about his sadness--something for Freak.
