In 1540, Coronado sailed up Mexico's Western coast into now present day Southwest United States. He was in search for the Seven Golden Cities. Unfortunately, the Seven Golden Cities didn't exist which made his exploration a "failure." Most people would disagree with this because instead of finding the Seven Golden Cities, he discovered the Grand Canyon and many other famous landmarks. One of Francisco's hardships on this journey was that he clashed violently with the local Indians.
