Eugene Henri Paul Gauguin (7 June 1848-8 May 1903 ) was a FrenchPost-Impressionist artist who was not well appreciated until after his death. His work was infulential to the French avant-garde and many modern artists, such as Pablo Picasso and Henri Matisse. Gauguin's art became popular after his death and many of his paintings were in the possession of Russian collector Sengei Shchukin. He was an important figure in the Symbolist movement as a painter, sculptor, print-maker, ceramist and writer. His bold experimentation with coloring led directly to the Synthetist style of modern asrt, while his expession of the inherent meaning of the subjects in his paintings, under the infuence of the cloisonnist style, paved the way to Primitivism and the return to the pastoral. The most important monuments are the field of Mars, Trocadero, the Eifel Tower, the Notre Dame Cathedral and the Champs Elise avenue. The most famous museum is the Louvre and Picasso museum. France is not only Paris. This wonderful country offers a lot to see and even more to do. From coastal towns and beautiful villages to cosmopolitan corners like Cannes, Lyon, Marseille, Nice, Saint-Tropez. The major mountains are the Alps, the Pyrenees and the Jura mountins. The five major rivers of France are the Loire, the Rhine, the Garouna, the Seine and the Rhone. The fun is only!!! This magic country has at all, clubs, centres of jazz music etc. France is famous for high fashion couture (for all ages), perfumes or even the famous French cheeses, chocolate mousse and wines. Children often drink hot chocolate. Lunch is usually a sandwich followed with a dessert. Croissant is very famous too. Dinner often consists of three courses. Soup or salad offered before cheese or yogurt or fresh frouit. The meal accompanied by bread, wine and mirelan water. Main meat are often served with vegetables, potatoes, rice or pasta.
