SUBTRACTTo subtract fractions, you first get a common denominator (make the bottom numbers the same). Then you subtract the numerators.Before you add or subtract you have to make the mixed numbers into improper fractions.

What is a fraction?A mathematical equation that represents part of a whole. The top number is the numerator and the bottom number is called the denominator. A fraction is expressed as division. For example, 1/2 is 1 divided by 2.

MultiplyTo multiply fractions you first change them into an improper fraction and then multiply across. DivideTo divide fractions you first change them into an improper fractions. You KEEP the first fraction, CHANGE division to multiplication, and FLIP the second fraction.
