Fountains Abbey

Fountains Abbey is a Cisterian monastery that is in ruins. It is now in ruins. it is located in England.Fountains Abbey was established in 1132 by thirteen monks who were kicked out of a seperate monastery because of an argument. It's upom the land of a tributary known as River skell. In 1146, everything in the abbey except the church was burned down, but was later restored and expanded. It was managed for over 400 years. Fountains Abbey operated until 1539, when King Henry VIII sent out a decree to close all of the monasteries. This act is known as the Dissolution of the Monasteries.
