During the 1920s, parties and gatherings were common. Because of this, women's status and style in social settings changed. Flappers became the common name for trendy young women in this decade of wonderful nonsense.

During the 1920s, fashion transformed into something incredible. Fashion started to become a way of expression. Victorianism was rejected and vice, youth, and frivolity was embraced. 1920s fashion, in a sense, was the first youth rebellion in America. Instead of wanting to dress older, women began embracing sexuality and youth.
