The Hood Canal is in Washington near a town named Bangen.Its 177 feet deep and has 9 miles of shoreline.The Hood Canal was formed about 13,000 years ago.

Misty Fjords national monument is 40 miles north of Ketchikan Alaska. Its 2,294,343 acres. It became a monument in December 1980.The walls of the valleys often go 2,000 to 3,000 feet above sea level.

Fjords are created by faulting and erosion by running water.

Woodfjorden is in an island in Spitsbergen Norway.Its a fjord on the north shore of the island in the Svalbard archipelaco. It is the fourth longest fjord in Svalbard and it goes 40 miles into the island.
