Five Pillars of Islam:1-Shahada 2-Salat 3-Zakaat 4 -Sawm 5-Hajj(Shahada): Sincerely reciting the Muslim profession of faith-"There is no god, but the one God"and "Mohammed was his profit"-Muslim religion=monotheistic (one god)(Salat:) Performing ritual prayers in the proper way five times each day-Cleansing process to be purified for God-Prayer:singing/reciting words/kneeling/ facing Mecca(shrine)/positioning hands-Praying reminds Muslims: "God is great"(Zakaat:) Paying an alms (or charity) tax to benefit the poor or needy-Everything is blessing from God (2.5% of own income required=cheritable giving)(Presentation Continued...[Scroll Down] )-Prayer/Kakaat-To god (1) / To people (2)-Zakaat is required for one's salvation(Sawm:) Fasting during the month of Ramadan-"Body (food) =not as important as spirit"-Ramadan=month of atonement of forgiveness; Eid-at-Fitr=end of Sawm (Hajj:) Pilgrimage to Mecca-Participate only once (if physically able)-Holy places:Kaaba, Madena, and Mecca-Over 750,000 Muslims participate yearly-Goal is to equalize all social classes; all people together:"same place, same time" -To enter spiritual purity is to meet God with special garments to equalize people-Most pilgrims leave on their journeys with open hearts and come back filled-Hajj reanacts many scenarios from the life of Abraham, the founder of Islam\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/Hello, Mr. Ingle,Hope you enjoyed my Glogster presentation.
