Habitat

The tiger shark is a species of requiem shark. They have sharp, highly serrated teeth and powerful jaws that allow them to crack the shell of a sea turtle and a clam. The stomach contents of captured, tiger sharks have included stingrays, sea snakes,seals,birds,squids and even license plates and old tires. A tiger shark gets its name form it tiger like stripes on juveniles, the tiger shark is like its terres trail name snake, a voracious hunter.

The Tiger Shark has many distinctive characteristics making it easy to distinguish from other requiem sharks. It has a broad , flathead with a snout shorter than the width of the mouth, long labial furrows, and a slender body.Did you know that tiger sharks have lived for 400 million years.

The tiger shark is often found close to the coast, mainly tropical and   subtropical  waters throughout  the world. Its behavior is primarily   nomatic, but is guided by warmer currents, and it stays closer to the equator throughout the colder months. The tiger shark are found both on the surface and in depths of up to 1,150 feet (350 meters) [source: Knickle] and they're found lots of different waters, including rivers tuaries  and harbon.

Tiger sharks are a very large animal they can reach up to 10 and 14 feet in length and 850 to 1400 pounds. The tiger sharks get there name from there tiger like stripes that cover the body's of young animals.

The tiger shark is a solitary, mostly nocturnal hunter. It's not able for having the widest food spectum of all sharks, with a range of prey that includes crust oceans, fish,seals,birds,squid,turtles,sea snakes,dolphins and even other smaller sharks.
