[2015] Xiaobang Chen: First continental congress

Ben Chen

With the unreasonably increasing taxes and less freedoms they can got, the colonists are unsatisfied with the legislation made by the Great Britain because those laws are beneficial not to them but just to the England. The advancing anger with the England resulted in First Continental Congress established by settlers who claim a Declaration of the independence. I would obviously agree with this Congress and try my efforts without hesitation because I want our own liberties!

Patrick Henry was an American attorney, planter and politician who became known as an orator during the movement for independence in Virginia in the 1770s. He led the opposition to the Stamp Act 1765 and is remembered for his "Give me liberty, or give me death!" speech. He is regarded as one of the most influential champions of Republicanism and an invested promoter of the American Revolution and its fight for independence.
