Sociological Approach
Feminist: Against women rights
~Women roles are usually protrayed as a stay at home mother, who cleans, cook and take care of husband and children. In the Hunger Games women and men are treated the same both are required to provide for their families by working to find and get food for their families. *An example is that Katniss the main character helps her mother to find food for her little sister and trades things that are found for other items. Another example is Gale who is a friend of Katniss that also helps his family to provide food. ~The work affirms the traditional view of women because they are the ones to take care of their families and besides most dont have education. Women go out to look for food and items to trade.~The characters are expected to behave accordingly to their districts. In some districts you are expected to be weak and not stand up for themeselves. In other districts they are expected to know and be perpared for the hunger games. They are also not as poor as the others. These effects the way the hunger games turns out to be.
Feminist
~The relationship between the characters and their society is that they dont have any control of their society because of the richer people.*Katniss, Gale and Peeta are in the district 12. They live in districts and are in harsh situations. The people that live in the capitol have infinite wealth of food and money. When Peeta and Katniss head to the Capitol they see the way that the capitol people dont need to struggle to live .~The Capitol benefited from the districts because they were in charge for different things. Such as district 12 is in charge of mining, and other districts are in charge of different things.~ Yes becuase Katniss came from district 12 and as she volunteered in the Hunger Games she gained respect and popularity because she was the first to volunteer to be a tribute. People from the district know her struggle before she went to the capitol to represent her one district.
