Greg Glassman is a multi-millionare college dropout who doesn't like being told what to do. As a child, he used gymnastics to regain his strength after having polio. After a bad dismount left him limping, he became a personal trainer and created some of his first CrossFit exercises. His workouts were loud and disruptive, and he was tossed out of several gyms. He opened his own gym in 2001 and today there are over 12,000 franchises around the world. The company is totally private, and Greg has no board of directors and never had a business plan.

CrossFit is a training program that builds strength and conditioning through extremely varied and challenging workouts. After the aring of the finals of the CrossFit Games on ESPN last year, according to Forbes, it has become "one of the fastest growing sports in America." What makes CrossFit special, says Glassman, is that it will transform everyone according to their unique genetic potential.
