Martin Luther King Jr.MLK once had a dream that his 4 little kids could live in a nation where they would not be judged by the color of their skin but by the content of their character. His speach became very famous all around the world. Martin Luther Kings dream came true.

Martin Luther King was born in Atlanta 1929. He had a hard childhood because he was a black. When he was older he gave a famous speech. The name of the speech was "I have a dream". 250,000 people came to the speech. He wanted eaqul rights for everyone. Before his speech he met with some people just like him. Some people changed after his speech. A person got scared and killed him. He died when he was only 39 years old. Thats young.

Civil Rights. Our group did a play and song. Civil Rights meant equal rights for every one. Blacks weren't treated equally as whites. MLK had the I have a dream speech in Washington DC in front of the Lincoln Memorial. He wanted his kids to be judged by the content of their character and not by the color of their skin. The Civil Rights Act came and people called when watching it on the news. Civil rights leaders met with MLK before his speech. They had marchers join hands together before the speech. Also, before the speech they listened to freedom songs.

SLAVERY!Our group is studying slavery! Derek played the recorder,Ben.b and I showed pictures of our research . Then we told facts about our project. This is what we wrote : Slavery started in the early 1800's. They had slaves all over the world before the US did. African Americans were taken from their homes and took on slave ships to the US and become slaves. Slaves were brought to Jamestown and sold an auctions. Familys would be brooken up and sold to seperate states sometimes. The Civil War ended slavery in 1865.
