Mount Rushmore is a mountain sculpture that depicts four U.S. Presidents and is located in the Blacks Hills of South Dakota. The four Presidents represented are George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, Theodore Roosevelt, and Abraham Lincoln. Construction began in 1927 and was completed in 1941.
Famous American Landmarks
The Grand Canyon is located in Arizona and reaches all the way to Colorado. It was formed by the Colorado River over a period of 5.4 million years. It is 277 miles long, up to 18 miles wide, and 5000 feet deep. Rocks found at the bottom of the canyon date as far back as 2 billion years ago.
The Alamo is located in San Antonio, Texas and was originally built by the Spanish Empire in 1744. The Battle of the Alamo was a historic aspect of the Texas Revolution. Following the end of the war, the Mexican army agreed to leave Texas and the Republic of Texas officially gained rights to the Alamo.
