Faith And Fear

The medieval catholic church was a very powerful social and political force. The was also a very wealthy land owner and its leader was the Pope. People did not usualy question his decisions or teachings.

The church or cathedral was usually built in the centre of a village or town. Alot of women were scared of being thought of as a witch, a woman associating with the devil. If the church saw them as withches they would be burnt alive and sent to hell imediatly.
