Example - List the factors of 12:

Think of all of the number pairs that can be multiplied to equal 12:

Example - List the multiples of 12:

Think of all of the products there are when 12 is multiplied by other whole numbers:

1 x 12 = 122 x 6 = 123 x 4 = 12

So, the factors of 12 are: 1,2,3,4,6,& 12

12 x 1 = 12 12 x 2 = 2412 x 3 = 36 12 x 4 = 48

So, the first four multiples of 12 are:12, 24, 36, and 48
