Oklahoma City Bombing

In August, the FBI and Federal Marshals became involved in a bloody firefight with Randy Weaver and his family on their farm in Ruby Ridge, Idaho. Weaver's son, wife, and dog were all killed along with a U.S. marshal.

It was caused by Timothy McVeigh who wanted to retaliate against the government for the tragedy in Waco, Texas. He planned to kill federal employees by bombing the Murrah Federal building. This killed 168 people.

The Al Qaeda attack on September 11, 2001 consisted of 4 hijacked planes. Two of which crashed into the Twin Towers. The third crashed into the pentagon. The last one crashed into a field in Pennsylvania, because of the brave passengers on board trying to take the aircraft back. This plane was heading to Washington D.C.

It was passed in 1996 due in part to multiple domestic terrorist incidents. One of these was the Oklahoma City bombing.

This act put in place new criminal penalties for terrorism related activities. This included both domestic and international terrorism.

It was an anti-government novel written by Neo-Nazi William Pierce. The book contains a scenario similar to the Murrah building being bombed. A copy of this book was later found in Timothy McVeigh's getaway car.
