What is leukemia

General classification

Leukemia was first described by anatomist and surgeon Alfred-Armand-Louis-Marie Velpeau in 1827. A more complete description was given by pathologist Rudolf Virchow in 1845.(picture of Rudolf Virchow)

Possible treatment

In 2014, researchers of Minnessota (United States) found the way to treat leukemia when they were treating a woman. They injected her a genetically modified strain which came of measles

Leukemia is a group of diseases that usually begins in the bone marrow and results in high numbers of abnormal white blood cells

Leukemia is subdivided into a variety of large groups. The first division is between its acute and chronic forms:-Acute leukemia is characterized by a rapid increase in the number of immature blood cells.-Chronic leukemia is characterized by the excessive buildup of relatively mature, but still abnormal, white blood cells
