What did we do?1. First I fillled the ziploc bag with air by opening the bag up and raising the bag above your head and then bringing it down quickly. 2. After that I immediatly put the thermometer in the bag and ziped it up. 3. I put the ziploc bag outside in the sun and put a timer on for 15 minutes.Part B of the lab 1. I filled the jar up to 1/3 with vinegar.2. I put a teaspoon of baking soda in the jar and waited 2 minutes.3. Then I put another teaspoon of baking soda to make sure there is only carbon dioxide in the jar. 4. Get another teaspoon of baking soda and place it beside the jar. 5. Open your ziploc bag and make sure all the air is out of it. 6. Add the baking soda to the jar and quickly cover the opening with the ziploc bag, hold it there untill the bubbles stop. 7. Quickly take the bag off the jar, pu tthe thermometer inside the bag and zip it up. 8. Put the bag outside in the sun for 15 minutes. 9. Clean up your area.

My prediction is that during the first part of the experiment I think the tempurature is going to go up to 60 degrees Celsius. For the second part I feel that the experiment is going to go up to 80 degrees Celsius when the carbon dioxide is in the ziploc bag.

1. Thermometer2. A clear ziploc freezer bag3. Sunlight 4. A glass or jar 5. Vinegar 6. Baking soda 7. A teaspoon

What happened and Why?In the first part of the experiment when i put the hag filled with air and the theremometer it went up to 90 degrees Fahrenheit or 35 degrees Celcius. For the second part of the experiment when I put the bag of Carbon dioxide and Baking soda out in the sun, it went up to 120 degrees Fahrenheit or 50 degrees Celcius. It appears that the Carbon dioxide in the bag caused the temperature to go up higher.
