Experiment- Cleaning the Werribee Creek

Methods we could use

What did we do?

The problem here is that people keep on throwing their rubish, waste, pets poo/pee, ect.... into the river and it is getting contaminated so fish are dying and people cant swim, kayak, row, fish ect.... It is not a good image for melboune too.

The reasult you would get is a nice and clean environmet in the river that you can go have picnics and even swim in the river itself. there will not be an horendous smell and look nicer.

Decanting: To gently pour off a liquid without stirring up any sediment at the bottom.Distillation: The process of purifying a liquid by boiling it and condensing its vapors.Filtration: The act to pas a liquid through thin paper to remove the solids.Megnetic seperation: A process in which magnetically susceptible material is extracted from a mixture using a magnetic force.Separating funnel: A large funnel having a tap in its output tube, used to separate immiscible liquids.Sieving: a strainer for separating lumps from powdered material or grading particles.Dredging: For scooping or sucking up mud, sand, rocks, irons, glass, rubish ect...

Megnetic seperation: It can be used to remove unwanted metal, tin, aliminium, steel and iron. Filtration: the un clean water will filter and come out clean and it will take out the algae which can be clay, sand, charcole, rubish, small and big particals of glass ect...Dredging: It is helpful because it can remove the solids in whatever sizes and it is also used to deepen and clear creeks, rivers, harbours ect...Sieving: It would take out all the big particals such as poo, rubish, bricks, wood, cement ect...
