Many things happened during World War II, but some things were more important.

June 1 - Germany invades the USSR, opening what becomes known as the Eastern FrontDec. 7 - attack on Pearl Harbor by Japaneses causing US to enter the war

Sept. 1 - Germany invades Poland and World War II begins

May - France loses to German which allows Hitler to control most of Europe

June 6 - D-Day was important to ending of the war because it made Germany fight the war from two sides instead of oneDec. 8 - U.S. Air Forces begin bombardment of Iwo JimaDec. 1944 - Germany loses the Battle of the Bulge sealing their fate for the rest of the war

April 30 - Hitler commits suicideMay 7 - Germnay surrendersAugust 6 & 9 - the US uses the atomic bomb on Japan causing them to surrender ending World War II
