Ethical Leadership

In comparing transactional, transformational, and pseudo-transformational leadership, it is important to emphasize the ethical standards of transformational leaders. Leaders who inspire others to be and do more.

Pseudo-transformational leaders obtain followers through fear, threats, and anger. Leaders such as Adolph Hitler and Fidel Castro coarsed and manipulated followers to torture and kill other people because they were of different nationalities or had different beliefs. These leaders interests were of personal power and greed.

Transformational leaders appeal to followers capabilities, self-esteem, and individuals conscious efforts to change and improve society. Transformational leaders like Oprah Winfrey and Bill Gates have used their success to inspire and assist others to pursue their dreams and to give back by providing opportunity and support to those who are less fortunate.

Ethical Leadership

Transactional leaders appeal to the basic needs of followers, using saleries, incentives, recognition, and awards in exchange for obedience and work performed.
