2. Escherichia coli is a type of bacteria that normally lives in the intestines of humans and animals. Most forms of the bacteria are harmless, but some strains may cause severe abdominal cramps, bloody diarrhea, and vomiting. Most cases of infection are caused by contaminated raw vegetables and undercooked ground beef.

4. Everyone can be a victim of E. coli. In humans young children and the elderly may possibly die from this bacteria due to compromised or weak immune system.
3.E. coli can be spread just about any way you think of. It is actually quite a common bacteria and is part of the normal microbiota for many people. This means that a person can have it on their body without any signs of infection. It can be there indefinitely with no problems or it may cause an infection if they get a wound and it gets in that. So many people do have it on them, it is common to be spread to objects such as doorknobs, railings, and other places people commonly touch. If another person comes by and touches it, their body may have a reaction (where the other person did not). In addition, e.coli is a common cause of nosocomial infections - which are infections that people acquire while in hospitals or medical settings. Again, the normal microbiota of some, cause problems in areas of weakness
5. It is estimated that E. coli infections account for over 2,000 hospitalizations in the United States each year, according to a 2011 CDC report. Sources of E. coli. E. coli O157:H7 is most commonly found in cows, although chickens, deer, sheep, and pigs have also been known to carry it.
8. Careful handling of animals during processing. Containment of produce during growing seasons away from live stock and other animals. Carefully, cleaning and washing produce products prior to consumption. 9.ProkaryoticGram-negativeCapable of aerobic and anaerobic metabolismHeat-labile at high temperatures
6. E. coli causes bloody diarrhea. Some strains of E. coli bacteria may also cause severe anemia or kidney failure, which can lead to death.7.Is it Escherichia coli armed and dangerous? It is both. E. colis Rates of the degree of damages. It depends on what strain of E. Coli you have. Some are a lot worse than others. E. coli is everywhere though. But it doesn't always cause very serious illness or death. Like so many other bacteria, E. coli is present normally in small amounts on/in humans. But like staphylococci that are virtually everywhere (hands, throat, genitals, etc.), certain E. coli are considered "normal flora", or normal residents somewhere on healthy individuals. Problems may occur when normal flora from one part of your body get access to mucous membranes at another part of your body.
