Chemical energy-the energy released or absorbed in a chemical reaction. An example would be a person eating pancakes, or a car running on gas. A characteristic is chemical reactions, they happen in everday life as we consume food and break it down in our bodies.Nuclear energy-1.the energy released during nuclear fission or fusion. This is used to create electricity, but its very dangerous to work with. A characteristic would be highly radioactive, and very dangerous if you were to be contaminated.

Chemical and Nuclear Energy

Potential energy- Stored energy, not in motion. This energy is shown in everyday life. When a car is at the top of the hill , when you are on the edge of a diving board, etc. A characteristic of this energy is still and has potential movement that causes energy.Kinetic energy- energy in motion. This energy is when something is moving such as running, a car driving, writing on paper, etc. A characteristic of this energy is movement, it can only be kinetic energy if it is in motion.

Thermal and Solar Energy

Thermal energy- Energy in the form of heat. Such as adding ice to a glass of water causing the temperature of the water to decrease, because the thermal energy in the water caused the ice to melt. A characteristoc of this type of enregy would be heat, and reactive. The heat makes things react causing Energy.Solar energy- Radiant energy emitted by the sun. This would be used today in solar panels. Solar panels take the suns energy and converts it into electricity for homes, workplaces, etc. A characteristic of this type of energy would be expensive and hard to be implemented.

Light and sound energy

Gravitational energy-the potential energy held by an object because of its high position compared to a lower position. This would be like if you were at the top of a climbing rope you have gravitational potential energy, because of the downward force of gravity. It has the potential to go down, and it will because of gravity

Elastic Energy- the Potential energy of returning to its original length, shape, etc., after being stretched, deformed, compressed, or expanded.. An example would be pushing a spring down, and it has the potential to reform back to its original shape. A characteristic would be flexible and adaptable to change.

Light energy-the form of energy that makes it possible to see things. This can be shown with sunlight, light from lamps, from a fire, etc. A characteristic of this type of energy would be very common, light energy is shown evrey where you turn thorughout the world. Sound energy- a form of energy associated with the vibration of matter. This would be shown if you were listening to the radio or music on your I Pod. A distinctivley known attribute is the ability to hear it. You can't See or hear any energy accept we can hear Sound energy. The sounds that we hear everyday are examples of that.

Electrical Energy-energy made available by the flow of electric charge through a conductor. An example of this would be plugging a cord into a wall outlet. The electric charge is made available through the conductor on the outside of the electrical wires. A characteristic of this would be electrically flowable. The energy can flow through the wires and turn into electricity.
