Elizabeth Cady Stanton

Elizabeth Cady Stanton was the main reason they held the Seneca Falls Convention in July of 1848. There, the "Declaration of Sentiments" was signed and helped set up the main agenda for the Women's Rights Movement. Without her, this convention wouldn't have happened and this movement would have been much later in history.

Over her life, Elizabeth wrote many books including The Woman's Bible, that was based off the fact that women discrimination was mostly based off religion. She also wrote 3 volumes of The History of Women.

Elizabeth, one of 4 children was born on November 12, 1815 in New York. She became an activist, writer, editor, femanist, and a leading figure for the Women's Rights Movement. Video
